Trip across the country

First, sorry I have been off the map.  Lots going on here.  We have finally landed in Chicago or just outside in Wheeling.  Our trip out here was FANTASTIC!!!!!  We put all of our belongings in storage, packed what we could in our honda accord and started the trek.  We first headed for Kansas City, KS. where Scott's sister Linda lives.  We stayed there for 2 days and we were thoroughly entertained by her kids.   Shout out to Ke'mana for all the laughs.  Oh and Scott and I somehow morphed into desperately wanting to be the coolest aunt and uncle they have ever met.  Hopefully mission accomplished?!?!

I somewhat turned our trip into my favorite... a foodcation.  We stopped at a couple places while on the drive, but we were disappointed and was not blog worthy.  BUT, when we arrived at Kansas City can I just say wow, some of the best food I have ever consumed.  We did lots of BBQ.  My ultimate fav was a hole in the wall (obviously always the best) called PapaBobs. http://www.papabobsbbq.com/  It was featured on Man vs Food.  All I can say is, man I wish my Dad was there.  He would have loved every little thing about this joint.  But I was in great company the whole Hadley clan was there and we all ordered different stuff and shared.  Scott Hadley (yes, yet another Scott to this crowd) ordered the devastator.

While eating, PapaBob himself came out to see how our food was.  So cute!  I ordered the Wobble Gobble sandwich, which was delish!  But I asked him what his favorite was, he said the Burnt-ends sandwich, and he brought out a sample.... AMAZING!  I also ordered fried corn nuggets for the first time.  Probably my favorite of all time. Thank you Papa Bob for the food and the fun.  I can't wait to go back.

LA Temple

The LA temple was gorgeous as ever.  Such a pretty view of LA and you can see the Hollywood sign from the front lawn of the temple (kinda funny).

More FOOD!

Next, this was my favorite part about the trip (besides hanging with my mom).  We were eating at The Golden State and noticed across the street tons of cops going in to this old looking deli/bakery.  So we decided to head over after for a treat.  We walked in and literally felt like we walked into a New York City Jewish Bakery.  It was called Canters http://www.cantersdeli.com/  It was crazy busy and the pastries were amazing!  We so regret not eating there.  We ended up going back the next day because we selfishly ate all the treats we bought for our hubby's.  They were open 24 hours and the crowds never stopped.  I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the culture.  Yay for yummy pastries.

PS they actually had the black and white cookie, from Seinfeld!
